Seeking the Light

It was dark and deep,

It was wet and cold,

Darkness was all I knew,

Till something pushed me through.

The light was dull,

But it was still brighter,

Than the days spent,

In utter darkness.

Slowly, very gradually,

Did I move up,

But once I saw the blazing light,

I wanted to get back down.

I couldn't even if I tried,

I was young and tender,

But as days turned to months,

I grew stronger, yearning for the light.

There were dark days,

And I reminisced the days of utter darkness,

But even in those moments I looked for the light,

And I found it one ray at a time.

Everything in nature teaches us tiny but valuable lessons. Most often we go through life without noticing them. A small seed when planted in the soil, takes a while for the shoot to surface but in that time, it is undecided whether it needs to grow. We too like the seeds get comfortable in our dark spots of life. When life pushes us into the next phase, we are undecided, but when the darkness becomes too dreary we walk towards the light. But the light or the goodness is often too overwhelming that we seek the comfort of the darkness. Unlike the sapling we have a choice and we need to choose right, that is walking towards the light. A plant always grows towards the sunlight until it droops down and dies. Similarly, we need to walk in the light of the word of God. The 'darkness' is different for every person, but it has the similar outcome of leaving you cold, sad and full of regret.

Turn your eyes to Jesus, the light of the world, even on days when the darkness seems to take control.  And I assure you, that you can find the goodness of God, one ray of light at a time.

Waiting on the Lord: From Restlessness to Rest

Isaiah 40:31 "But those who wait  on the LORD Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not be faint."           Patience is a great virtue, but it has never been my cup of tea. I have always struggled to sit still or remain idle, which made it especially difficult for me to truly surrender everything into God’s control. Yet, when faced with important life choices and uncertainty about how to move forward, I realized that the Lord, who created heaven and earth, is a far better planner than I could ever be. He knows each of my days before even one comes to pass, so why not entrust my life into His capable hands?           With this realization, I decided to wait for His direction, understanding that His ways are higher than mine and that He leads us through experiences that always result in growth and learning. Waiting on the Lord, I discover...

Change Our World!

The great big Earth, Is too huge to  fathom , And its inhabitants so varied to  comprehend  . 'Change the world' is the slogan, And each blamed the world, For not changing around them. To change the world, We must first initiate it, A tiny gesture amongst our own loved ones. The whole world may be too hard, But changing how each person treats the next person, Can positively impact the world at large. Making the world a better place has been the vision for centuries. But everything happening around us discourages us to believe that something like that so phenomenal can happen to heal our broken world. Tell your loved ones, people you meet not about the flaw or wrong they've done but appreciate them for all they've done right. Pray for all the people in authority to be blessed with Godly wisdom to lead His people in the right path. And lastly find out your own passion, your purpose which can be instrumental as the church of Christ unites to change the world at large. Let...

Syncing News and Prayer

It has been nearly four years since I last picked up a newspaper, but in the past month, I decided to take up the habit once again. This return reminded me of the reasons I had initially given it up: the hurt, the hypocrisy, and the overwhelming deluge of information that often felt more like "infotainment" than actual news. Some days, the pain and suffering depicted in the articles were so overwhelming that I struggled to finish reading. I worried that I would become desensitized, reducing extraordinary tragedies to mere phrases like "it's normal" or "that's life." In moments of despair, I turned to Psalm 55:22, which says, "Cast your burden on the Lord..." and I endeavored to do just that. A Divine Perspective      The Lord is always faithful, and He gently reminded me that each article in the newspaper represents real people—individuals for whom Jesus Christ, our Savior, sacrificed His life on the cross. Each person, whether a vic...
