Chains of guilt, worry and fear,
Hold us back,
From blessings and grace,
That overflow from God's hand.
But who chained us,
Was it the devil?
No, he didn't,
We just chained ourselves.
"How?" I ask myself,
With just a few words,
"Will God forgive me?"
"I've sinned repeatedly."
That's enough for the devil,
To build a prison,
All around us,
Sometimes even fortifying it.
I plead for forgiveness,
Surrendering everything into God's hands,
And He opened my eyes and I saw,
I was in a prison with open doors.
Many a time, we find ourselves in prisons inside our head. We try so hard to get out of it, through all ways humanly possible. But let me tell you, with our own strength we can do nothing. Surrender it all into God's hands and he will open your eyes to see that all along you were in an open door'd prison. God is waiting for you to leave that prison of fear, failure, addiction, worldly pleasures or whatever it may be to experience His eternal freedom. What makes YOU feel imprisoned ?
