The government has made masks compulsory to prevent the spread of the disease, but many of us have been wearing masks for a much longer period. These masks are invisible. We wear it every morning and take it off only when we go to bed. Many of us might take it off at home where we can be ourselves, but it's often removed only partially. They say 'the face is the index of the mind', but with this mask all feelings are locked up and kept hidden. Emotions are hidden behind this great pretense of a mask for various reasons. Showing your true self to the world is hardly an option anymore. These masks can either be
i) A happy mask

ii) No expression/Neutral mask

The happy mask portrays that, that person is happy and all is right with the world when maybe the opposite is actually true. The neutral expression mask may hide a lot of problems and the desperate need of help, the person is in. There are many other masks which we change and wear according to the time and place suited for us.
Which mask do you have on today?
We feel that our problems are not as big in comparison to what others are going through and so we suppress it. But God knows our heart and innermost thoughts, and this can clearly be seen in I Samuel 16:7 "For Lord sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance but the Lord looks on the heart."God sees beyond the mask. His gaze is fixed on our heart. No one can hide from God, as he knows our every thought. Show Him your true self. Share your sorrows and cast your burden on Him. Trust in Him always and enjoy everlasting joy in his presence.

This was a really touching post. Yes we all wear masks and sometimes the biggest problem for most of us is taking it off. Praise be to the God that we can trust, even with our inner selves.
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear from you. In Jeremiah 1:5 it is written "Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you." Let us wholly trust in the God who formed us.
