Their vivid colours,
Are displayed outwardly,
When they are happy,
Angry or scared.
They are a shade,
Protecting us from the heat,
Rain and cold,
Of this frightening world around us.
They make any place,
Feel like home,
Keeping us safe from the worries,
Of the world outside.
We draw them close,
During a storm hiding behind them,
And when the raging passes over,
We peep over their shoulders.
Choose them wisely,
Or they'll let the heat through,
Moving away with the wind,
When we need them the most.

so beautifully written!!
